Technology

Modern dental technology allows us to provide a high level of dental care to ensure your comfort, make your appointments more efficient and productive, and improve the long-term outcomes we can achieve. Please take a few minutes to learn how our leading-edge dental technology benefits you, then call to schedule an appointment to see it in action!

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays show us what we can’t see with a visual exam, including inside and between your teeth, where cavities commonly develop. Our low-dose digital x-rays are safe because they emit about 80 percent less radiation than film x-rays. They also give us much more detailed information, and we can share them with you so you can see what our dentist sees.

Your digital dental x-rays become part of your patient record, and we can easily refer to them as needed in the future. Since they are digital, your x-rays are also easy to share with your insurance company or specialists as needed.

Digital Impressions

Taking dental impressions with goopy paste is uncomfortable and time-consuming for the patient and doesn’t always provide the details we need. Digital impressions are highly accurate and detailed and eliminate the need for messy paste impressions.

Your dentist passes the intraoral scanner over your teeth, and 3-D digital images appear using specialized software. We use digital impressions to produce highly realistic, beautifully detailed tooth restorations and to plan Invisalign treatment.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small, handheld device we use to capture magnified images of the inside of your mouth. The camera has a small lens on the end of a long, thin wand connected to a computer monitor. Images appear in real-time on the monitor, so we can show you different areas of your teeth and gums.

Because you see what the dentist sees, you can better understand your oral health needs and why we recommend treatment. We also save images of your intraoral exam to your patient record, where they are available to reference as needed.
